Hawks earn postseason recognition By BARRY BURLESON
Twelve Holly Springs High School football players have received postseason recognition. Six earned first team honors on the 3-3A All-Division Team. Six others were on the honorable mention list. The Hawks, led by head coach Clifford Brown, lost to Amory in the first round of the state playoffs and finished with a 5-6 record. Linebacker Jeremy Boyd was named the district’s most valuable player on the defensive side of the football. Other Holly High players on the first team defense are defensive end Marvin Lucas, linebacker Willie Snow and defensive back Courtney Bowen. Making the first-team offense were lineman Darryl Ayers and running back Desley Brown. Hawks selected honorable mention all-division are Jamal Porter, Chris Bridgeforth, Kendrick Duncan, Elijah Thigpen, Cordell Stephens and Nicholas Mason. Report News:
