educators hand out honors Organization renamed By SUE WATSON
Marshall County Retired Educational Personnel celebrated Black History Month, Friday, Feb. 10, and honored some individuals for service. Shown (above photo, from left) are Robbie Zinn, who presented a plaque to her husband George Zinn III (right photo) for outstanding service to the community as county supervisor; Terry Kilpatrick Sr., recognized for outstanding performances in music and community service volunteering; Mary Milan, presenting to Kilpatrick; Louise Deloris Plaxico, given a plaque for outstanding service in education and community service; Maggie Adams, presenting to Plaxico; Mary Street, secretary; and Laverne Jones, president. Previously known as Marshall County Retired Teachers Association, the 30-year-old organization was renamed recently to include retired staff personnel as well as teachers in its membership. The group will meet again April 14 at 1 p.m. at Dreamland. The program will include some spring activities the group has done with the Holly Springs Intermediate School. Report News:
