OF RECREATIONAL LAND OWNERS ACT 89-2-7

OF THE MISSISSIPPI CODE

The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Vicksburg District, pursuant to Section 89-2-7 of the Mississippi Code, hereby gives notice that the land and water contained within the boundaries of Arkabutla Lake and Askew Area in DeSoto, Tate, Panola, Tunica and Quitman Counties, Mississippi are open to the general public for outdoor recreational use. These areas provide an array of recreational opportunities, including but not limited to hunting, fishing, boating, sailing, scuba diving, water skiing, swimming, pleasure driving, nature studies, camping with or without electricity, picnicking, horseback riding, hiking, motorcycling, archery, etc. Shower facilities, restrooms, boat launching ramps, trailer sanitary stations, beach houses, designated swimming areas, fish cleaning stations, drinking water and picnic shelters are also available.

Private concessionaires also provide outdoor recreational opportunities of a varied nature at these areas.

All of these facilities are open to the general public for their outdoor recreational use. You are strongly encouraged to visit the Lake’s project office or visitor center and familiarize yourself with these recreational opportunities.

NOTICE TO BIDDERS

Please be advised that sealed bids will be received by the Board of Supervisors, Marshall County, Mississippi, in the office of the Chancery Clerk, Courthouse, Post Office Box 219, Holly Springs, Mississippi 38635 (662) 252-4431 until 10:00 A.M. Monday, March 13, 2006 and thereafter publicly opened for the contractual right of any food service provider to supply the Marshall County Jail for two (2) years with meals for inmates. Bids must be made for the preparation of the meals for the County Jail inmates.

Bidders shall conform to all local, state, and federal rules and regulations, laws, and orders with respect to preparing meals for inmates confined in the Marshall County Jail. Meals will follow a four week cycle menu as developed by a registered dietician. The menu, including revisions or modifications, will meet or exceed the "Recommended Dietary Allowance of the National Academy of Sciences," and are to be reviewed annually for nutritional adequacy. The master menu will provide for three meals daily, or which two must be hot.

It shall part of the contract between the County and the accepted bidder that meals may be inspected at any time without prior notice by authorized personnel of governmental entities.

The Bid, if accepted, shall allow the Marshall County Jail the right to purchase meals at the bid prices accepted by the Board of Supervisors, Marshall County, Mississippi, and further that said bids shall not be withdrawn during the period of acceptance once submitted.

The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any and all formalities in the best interest of the County.

The Marshall County Planning Commission will meet for their regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, March 9, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. in the Zoning Office at 590 Old Highway 78-East, Holly Springs, Mississippi. The public is invited to attend.

The following requests will be on the agenda:

ITEM 1: Mrs. Jerri K. Smiley at 352 Dockery Drive requests to be allowed to deed her daughter, Chasity Hayes six (6) acres of her 26 acres. The property in question is zoned R-2 and is Lot #23B of Warsaw East Farms Subdivision, Phase I.
