Board deals with clubs
By SUE WATSON The Marshall County Board of Supervisors passed motions to address problems with night clubs and animal nuisances at the December 18 meeting. The board authorized attorney Tacey Clark Locke to proceed with injunctions to close down and revoke the beer licenses at Elmo’s in Victoria and Bossman’s B-B-Q on Jamison Road in Holly Springs following complaints or incidents at these clubs. A motion to grant a license to sell beer at Watkins Grocery passed 3-2 with supervisors Keith Taylor and Ronnie Joe Bennett opposing the permits. The board also voted to refuse a beer license for the operator of Dusk-To-Dawn night club on Highway 310 near the Highway 7 intersection. Several complaints about dog and pig nuisances were brought before the board of supervisors with actions likely to be taken within weeks. In other business, First State Bank was selected as the county depository for the next year after submitting the best bid. Report News:
