SocietyCity Personals Stubbs celebrates 85th birthday in Washington, DC, attends White House staff Christmas Party while there Mrs. Jack Stubbs Sr., recently returned from a week in Washington, DC, where she visited her grandson, Everette Stubbs. Mrs. Stubbs went as Everette’s guest to the White House staff Christmas Party and enjoyed meeting President and Mrs. Bush. Everette is the director of the Office of Presidential Messages at the White House. During her visit, Mrs. Stubbs also celebrated her 85th birthday and was surprised with a dinner held in her honor at Kinkead’s restaurant in Washington. Upon their arrival at Kinkead’s, Mrs. Stubbs and her guests, Everette Stubbs, Sheila Kolb (Everette’s godmother) and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Stubbs Jr., were greeted by owner and world renowned chef Bob Kinkead. Once seated, they were presented with custom menus inscribed Happy 85th Birthday Nana! A fabulous dinner, followed by a special cake from the pastry chef, concluded the evening. The following evening, Everette gave the group a private tour of the West Wing at the White House, where they enjoyed seeing the Oval Office and the Rose Garden. Later, they attended the National Symphony Orchestra’s Holiday concert, conducted by Marvin Hamlisch, at the Kennedy Center. After leaving Washington, Mrs. Stubbs and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Stubbs Jr., spent a few days in Asheville, NC, visiting family and enjoying the Christmas decorations at the Biltmore Estate. Another birthday dinner was held in Mrs. Stubbs’ honor, hosted by her nephew, Chuck Pickering and his wife, Dini, at their home on the Biltmore Estate. Rollie and Lynn Carson and Leigh and Kelton Morris of Memphis, Tenn., spent the weekend at “The Barn.” The couples attended Christmas festivities while here. Anne Kieffer and Will Carson were guests of Jimmye Dale and Bea Green. Tom and Phoebe Stewart of Houston, Texas, are here for the holidays. They are guests of Tom and Linda Stewart and their children, Thomas and Brittany. While here, they are also visiting with their daughter, Lea Stewart, of Memphis, Tenn. Dave and Patti Jones Murray of Key Biscayne, Florida, were lunch guests of John Booth and Cindy Farese in Ashland on Saturday, December 9. They later drove to Memphis for Christmas with Patti’s daughter, Jill and husband Dave Guttu, along with their three sons, Austin, Chase and Sam. Couple says vows in December 9 ceremony Darwin and Brenda Bailey of Holly Springs are pleased to announce the recent marriage of their daughter, Angela Brooke Bailey, to Con Roy Lambert III. Con is the son of Con and Mina Lambert of Hernando. Vows were exchanged at the Southaven Church of Christ on the evening of Dec. 9. Wayne Jones performed the ceremony. Brooke is the granddaughter of Verna McAlexander and the late Robert (Bob) McAlexander of Holly Springs, and Clark and Sherrill Bailey of Ecru. Con is the grandson of William and Betty Hogan of Covington, Tenn., and Willa Chessier and the late Con Lambert of Saratoga, Ark. Brooke is a graduate of Marshall Academy and NWCC. She is a registered nurse with Baptist Memorial Hospital DeSoto. Con is a graduate of SBEC and attended NWCC as well. He is an employee of F and F Construction in Memphis. The happy couple will spend their honeymoon at St. Lucia and will make their home in Southaven. Mr. and Mrs. Chad Ingram Congratulations to Catasha Marte Boxley and Chad Ingram, both of Holly Springs, on their marriage, December 6, 2006. Catasha is the daughter of Glenda Boxley and Jimmy Hughes of Holly Springs. Chad is son of Jeanette Nunnaly of Holly Springs and Robert Smith of Chicago, Ill. The two express their thanks to family and friends for their support.Births Morrison Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Whaley of Potts Camp; great-grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Fred Whaley and Ruby Churchill, all of Potts Camp and the late R.G. “Bud” Churchill.
