Lighting winners announced The Holly Springs Chamber of Commerce announces its Holiday Lighting Contest Winners 2006. Home – first place, Mr. and Mrs. Anthony D. Sansone, 230 E. Park Ave.; second place, Mamie Dowdy, 288 Slayden St.; third place, Mr. and Mrs. Kerry Elliott, 160 Maury St. Door – first place, Carol Jean Taylor, 360 Chulahoma Ave.; second place, Mr. and Mrs. Garrie Colhoun, 315 E. Van Dorn Ave.; third place, Lois Swaney, 201 S. Center St. Most Original – first place, Dr. and Mrs. Ishmell Edwards, 554 Swaney; second place, Epson Riddle, 140 Southern Circle; third place, Paul McLeod, 200 Gholson Ave. Commercial – first place, Buford’s Furniture, 111 S. Market St.; second place, Burdett’s Cleaners, 165 S. Center St.; third place, Merchants & Farmers Bank, 650 Hwy. 7 S. Winners are identified by signs in their yards. The only requirements to be entered in the contest were to have Christmas lights burning on Wednesday evening, Dec. 13, and be located within the city limits of Holly Springs. “We would like to thank our judges, who wish to remain anonymous, and all of the residents of Holly Springs for sharing their holiday spirit and making Holly Springs look so festive for the Christmas season,” said Susan Jordan, executive director of the chamber of commerce. “Congratulations to all of our winners.” Report News:
