Wednesday

• SCIENCE FAIR Galena Elementary will host its annual science fair on Wed., Feb. 1. Open house for parents and community will be Wed., Feb. 1, 5-6 p.m. Kimberly Jackson, science fair coordinator.

Thursday

• MEETING Lessye Lee Davis 4-H Club will meet at the Marshall County Library, 6 p.m. Don’t forget your dues.

Saturday

• BARREL RACE Kudzu Klassic barrel series race #2, Marshall County Fairgrounds. Gates open at 8 a.m. Trainers begin at 9 a.m. For more info. call 252-5441.

• BALL REGISTRATION Byhalia Sports Association will hold registration for spring and summer girls softball for ages 7-16 and youth baseball for ages 4 through 14 on Sat., Feb. 4, from 1-4 p.m. in the cafeteria of Byhalia High School. Please be prepared to turn in a photocopy of your child's birth certificate and a recent school picture. • PARENT SEMINAR Holly Springs School District is sponsoring a Parent Info. Seminar, Sat., Feb. 4, 9 a.m.-12 noon in the high school auditorium. Light breakfast will be served and there will be door prizes. Trans. provided.

• BENEFIT PROGRAM Bell Grove MB Church, Feb. 4, 6 p.m. for Pastor Joe Powell. All groups, choirs, male choruses are invited to come.

• Revival, First Southern Baptist Church, Victoria, Feb. 5-7, with Bro. Joe Nunley, former pastor for 11 years, will be speaking on reviving your marriage. Sunday services, Feb. 5, 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Mon. and Tues. services, 7 p.m. Everyone is welcomed.

• PTO MEETING Potts Camp School, Feb. 6, 6:30 p.m., in the school auditorium.

Tuesday

• BROWN BAG LUNCH Friends of the Library, Brown Bag lunch, will meet at 11:30 a.m. in the Marshall County Library with a speaker at 12 noon. Bring a sandwich; drinks and dessert provided.

• COMMUNITY FORUM Holly Springs School District will hold a community forum Feb. 7, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Oak Palace. Lunch provided.

• BLOOD DRIVE Rust College, in the recreation center/Club 1866 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

February 10

• MEETING Marshall County Retired Education Personnel will meet Fri., Feb. 10, 1 p.m. at the Marshall County Library. That will be Honors Day.

• SECOND TIME AROUND The Marshall County Humane Society’s thrift store, Second Time Around, 126 W. Van Dorn, located next to Bailey Printing in Holly Springs, will be open Fri. from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Sat., 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Call 662-564-2900 for pick-up information on your donation.

• HORSE SHOW Winter blues horse show, Marshall County Fairgrounds, 4 p.m. Gates open at 2 p.m. For more info. call 252-5441. Snow or ice cancels show.

• BENEFIT Emory Independent Methodist Church, 872 Watson Rd., Byhalia, is sponsoring a benefit for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Catfish supper with all the trimmings. Meal served from 5-7 p.m. All proceeds go to St. Jude. For more info. call 838-2367, 233-4642 or 901-212-1659.

• MUSICIANS’ APPRECIATION Mt. Sinai COGIC of Mt. Pleasant will have an appreciation service at 2:30 p.m. on Sun., Feb. 12, for musicians Curtis Pritchard Jr., Michael Smith and Johnathan Pritchard. • JOB CLASS Catholic Social Services will have a class on how to search for a job and how to write a resume, Mon. Feb. 13, 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. in preparation for the Job Fair, Feb. 23. • African American Fest, in observance of Black History month, sponsored by the Friends of Ida B. Wells Barnett Museum and Cultural Center for African American History. Fri. Feb. 24, 9 a.m. at the Eddie L. Smith Multi-Purpose bldg., 160-B South Memphis St.; Sat., Feb. 25, 9 a.m. at the Multi-Purpose center, with exciting events throughout both days.
