Hillery O’Brien of Hogansville, Ga., was the weekend guest of her cousin, Mary Clay Brooks, and family. While here, she enjoyed spending time with her aunt, Kay Wheeler, and Laura Wheeler. Melissa Westbrook and Tammy Cupp spent Saturday night in style at the Grand Casino in Tunica, where they attended the Gretchen Wilson concert. Walker and Heather Cupp of Collierville, Tenn., were the Saturday night guests of Billy Cupp Jr. Helen Tyson of Nashville, Tenn., and Frances Winter of Monroe, La., were weekend guests in Holly Springs. They were joined by Nancy Smith of Oxford, for the Belles and Books Christmas Luncheon at the Kate Freeman Clark Art Gallery on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Art Collins of Atlanta, Ga., spent the weekend in Holly Springs. They enjoyed catching up and seeing old friends. Joanna Bowlin and Tommy Ozbirn to wed December 16 at First Baptist in Hickory Flat Mr. and Mrs. John William Bowlin of Hickory Flat announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter Joanna Marie Bowlin to Tommy Dean Ozbirn, son of Mrs. Glenda Ozbirn of the Pisgah community in Alcorn County and the late Edwin Dean Ozbirn. Joanna is the granddaughter of Mrs. Josephine Ormon and the late Samuel Johnson Ormon; Mrs. Gladys Bowlin and the late Fielden Abston Bowlin, all of Hickory Flat. She is a graduate of Hickory Flat Attendance Center and Northeast MS Community College, and graduated cum laude from Mississippi University for Women with a Bachelor of Science degree in speech-language pathology. She is currently a graduate student at MUW in Columbus. Tommy is the grandson of the late Floyd and Gladys Miller and the late Alton and Dorothy Ozbirn of the Pisgah community. He is a graduate of Kossuth High School and Northeast MS Community College in electrical technology. He is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of North Alabama with a Bachelor of Science degree in social studies. He is a secondary education teacher at Hickory Flat. The wedding will be held at 6 p.m. on December 16, 2006 at First Baptist Church in Hickory Flat with the reception immediately following at the First Baptist Church Family Life Center. All family and friends are invited. Couple to wed December 16 Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Randall McGee of Columbus announce the engagement of their daughter, Erin Renae, to Justin Garrett Elliott, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Elliott of Holly Springs. Miss McGee is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Paul McGee, Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Holliman Sr. and Mrs. Sylvia Hemphill and the late William G. Hemphill, all of Columbus. She graduated from Heritage Academy and Mississippi State University where she received a bachelor of arts in communications with an emphasis in public relations. At MSU she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and a dean’s list scholar. Currently she is employed by Dr. J. Barton Williams Cardiology in Columbus. Mr. Elliott is the grandson of Mrs. Julia Frances Smith and the late Mr. Lester Smith of Holly Springs and Mrs. Melvie Grace Elliott and the late Mr. Thomas Elliott of Ashland. He graduated from Marshall Academy and Mississippi State University where he received a bachelor of business administration in management construction and land development and banking and finance. While at MSU, he was a member and officer of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He is currently employed by Bancorp South in Starkville. The wedding will take place December 16, at 6 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Columbus. Friends and family are invited to attend. After a wedding trip to Orange Beach, the couple will reside in Starkville. Kathy Hudson and Tracy Rooks to wed Jannie and Melissia Bogard of Holly Springs announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of Kathy Hudson of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa to Tracy Laran Rooks of Holly Springs. She is the granddaughter of Joyce and Bill Turner of Pinedale and is employed with Mt. Pleasant Foods in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Tracy is the son of Mary and Lonnie Bogard of Holly Springs and the grandson of Jack Hudson and the late Isabella Hudson. He is employed with J&J Tree Service. The wedding
will be held at 1 p.m. on Dec. 16, 2006 in Abbeville, off Hwy 7. Look

Boone-Logue vows said September 23rd at First Baptist Church Jonathan Larry Boone and Amanda Candace Logue were married at 4 p.m. Sept. 23, 2006 at First Baptist Church, Vicksburg. Dr. Matt Buckles officiated at the double-ring ceremony. Births Childers She was welcomed home by big brother Andrew and parents Keith and Toya on Thanksgiving Day. Maternal grandparents are Charles and Brenda Smith. Paternal grandparents are Tommy and Linda Childers and Gail Carter Newman She weighed five pounds, 14 ounces and was 18 inches long. She is welcomed home by her big sister Adrianna. Maternal grandparents are Connie Bennett of Potts Camp and the late Bobby Bennett of Potts Camp. Paternal grandparents are Davie and Jean Newman of Waterford.
Museuming Christmas in Holly Springs Tour 2006 “Christmas in Holly Springs” was thrilling and wonderful. The sun shone brightly, there wasn’t a cloud in the sky, and it was really cold, like it is supposed to be for the Christmas tour. Because of divine intervention, when the storm hit Arkansas all that blustery winter storm turned its course northward and missed us completely. We can’t really control the weather but we do have divine connections. Report
