Man robbed on his front porch A Holly Springs man was robbed on his front porch this week while going out to get firewood for his fireplace, according to Robert Pearson, police chief. The robbery occurred in the 400 block of Craft Street, when the victim was approached by three men as he stepped out onto his porch. “The victim stated that the subjects took hold of him,” Pearson said. “Once they had hold of him they took about $330 from his pocket along with his billfold containing $15. Once the subjects took his money, they threw him to the ground.” The subjects fled in a car parked behind the victim’s neighbor’s house. The victim was unable to identify the color or make of the vehicle. Officers later found the victim’s wallet on the ground near the residence with all personal identification intact. A robbery was also reported this week in the 100 block of Rust Avenue. The victims stated that the alleged subjects entered their room through the unlocked door. The subjects wore black masks. Victims said they were threatened with weapons and that about $40 was taken from each of them. Pearson said both cases are under investigation. Officers also answered the following incident calls: one speeding, three DUIs, one possession of marijuana, one disturbance, one simple assault, malicious mischief, one stolen tag and one trespassing. Anyone having information regarding these incidents is asked to contact the Holly Springs Police Department at 662-252-2122 or Crime Stoppers at 800-729-2169. Report News:
