Suspect arrested in killing at club By SUE WATSON Marshall County deputies served an arrest warrant Tuesday, Nov. 21, charging a Byhalia man with murder in connection with the November 19 shooting death of Chico Ray Aldridge at Elmos (Elmores) night club in Victoria, according to sheriff Kenny Dickerson. Christopher Bernard Moore, 35, of 39 Ezell Cove, Byhalia, was arrested at his house, Dickerson said. “Moore was arraigned later in the day after his arrest in Marshall County Justice Court and bond was set at $100,000,” Dickerson said. “He remains in jail Monday pending making bond regarding the murder charge.” Dickerson gave no further details of the shooting, pending further investigation into the incident and due process for the defendant. The sheriff reminded the public to watch for suspicious persons and vehicles in the neighborhoods as it is hunting season, and months where burglary and break-in incidents rise. He also urged the public to be wary of telephone scams by individuals seeking to perpetrate identify theft, also a seasonal crime. “Hunting season in particular is a time when we have break-ins and 4-wheeler thefts more than in normal months,” Dickerson said. “Anyone who sees a suspicious person or vehicle in their neighborhood should call for a deputy to report it and we will be sure everything is authentic,” he said. Under no circumstances should a person approach or investigate a suspicious person or vehicle in the neighborhood themselves, he said. “The public should also be especially on guard against giving out any personal information over the telephone to anyone, particularly when receiving unsolicited calls,” Dickerson said. “We’re still having identity theft at random here in the county and in other places in the state this time of year.” Report News:
