Campbells, UNA face DSU next
Two former Holly Springs High School Hawks, brothers Jason Campbell and Joemal Campbell, are members of a college football team in the national championship hunt.
The University of North Alabama Lions (12-0) will host the Delta State University Statesmen (11-2) Saturday at 12 noon in the Southeast Region final of NCAA Division II football.
The Statesmen pulled off a come-from-behind victory in Saturday’s 24-17 second round win over the Eagles of North Carolina Central University on the road.
The Lions raced to a 24-7 lead and then held off a tough Newberry charge in the second half as the Lions downed the Indians 38-20 at Braly Municipal Stadium in Florence.
UNA defeated the Statesmen 17-10 at Parker Field in Cleveland during the regular season, on Oct. 21.

Last Saturday versus North Carolina Central, Delta State finished with 391 yards of total offense, while holding North Carolina Central to 291 yards. The Statesmen passed for 264 yards and rushed for 127 yards. The Eagles managed just 36 yards rushing, but passed for 255 yards.
