SocietyCity Personals John Green and family, and Everette Stubbs from Washington, visit relatives here Saturday, October 21, Margaret, Lynn and Dabney Brown attended a combined engagement party given for Lee Sturdivant, bride-elect of Hyde Carby, and Anastasia Ballas, bride-elect of Dunbar Jenkins. The party was at a home in Greenwood, and featured a great band out of Memphis. Lee and Anastasia are Chi Omega sisters of Lynn’s and Ana was Lynn’s roommate for several years. Margie Brown remained in Holly Springs to assist in catering a local wedding. A good time was had by all! Happy 21st birthday to Dabney Brown, daughter of Gene Brown, Jr., and Margaret Brown and granddaughter of Big Gene Brown. Congratulations, Dabney! Well wishes go out to Courtney Gibson who is recovering at home from a recent ATV accident. Get well soon! Jerry and Joyce Beck and Jacque Kazemba and children, Drew and Will, spent Saturday in Glen, visiting with Jerry B. and Diane Beck and their children, Kimball and Jake, and Judy Wilbanks. John and Kate Green and children, Jack and Henry, of Washington, DC, visited with Jimmye Dale and Bea Green over the weekend. Emma Reed and Ellis Farese of Oxford, were the weekend guests of their grandparents, Vivian and Smitty Smith. Walter and Vicki Webb spent the weekend in Philadelphia, at the Dancing Rabbit Casino Resort. Wesley Webb of Starkville joined the pair for a round of golf. Everette Stubbs of Washington, DC, was the guest of his mother, Linda Stubbs, last week. He was in town to attend the Ole Miss-Auburn football game Saturday in Oxford. Tammy Cupp joined Melissa Westbrook and her family of Oxford, last week on a mountain adventure. They travelled to Gatlinburg, Tenn., Pigeon Forge and to the top of Ober Mountain. Miss Hillary Phillips and Russell Jordan to wed November 11 in West Point Mr. and Mrs. Huey Don Phillips of Corinth are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Hillary Dawn Phillips, to Russell Barton Jordan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kelly S. Jordan of Holly Springs. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Phillips Sr. of Corinth and Earl O. Byrd, junior and the late Lorene Byrd of Johnson City, Tenn. Hillary graduated from Corinth High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Mississippi State University. While attending Mississippi State, she was a member and officer of Delta Gamma Sorority and served as an MSU orientation leader. She is currently employed as a fabric sales representative for Tietex Interiors in Tupelo. Russell is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Boyce Jordan of Ashland and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas M. Boone Jr. of Holly Springs. He graduated from Marshall Academy and received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Mississippi State University. While attending Mississippi State, he was a member and officer of Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He received his Juris Doctorate degree in May from the University of Mississippi. Russell is presently employed as an attorney for The Clayton Law Group in Tupelo and Holly Springs. The couple will exchange vows on November 11, 2006, at Waverly Waters in West Point, Mississippi. Following a honeymoon in Italy, the couple will reside in their new home in Tupelo. Birth
