Safe Driving Class scheduled next week at county library
An AARP Safe Driving Class has been scheduled at the Marshall County Library, 109 East Gholson Ave. in Holly Springs, on Nov. 8-9. The class will meet from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
AARP Safe Driving classes are eight-hour driver education refresher courses for drivers 50 years of age and over. The law in Mississippi mandates that students 55 years of age and up who complete the class be entitled to receive an appropriate discount on their automobile insurance premium for the following three years.
A person does not have to be a member of AARP to enroll and he or she will not be required to pass any exams or tests. A participant must attend both four-hour sessions to receive a completion certificate.
To register for this class call the library at 662-252-3823 before Nov. 7. A $10 materials fee is payable prior to the start of the first day of class. Class size will be limited to 30 students.
Marshall County Library is happy to sponsor this AARP Safe Driver Class as a service to all mature drivers in Holly Springs and the surrounding communities.
