Downtown festival Saturday By SUE WATSON The fourth annual Harvest Fest is set for this Saturday, October 28, from 10 a.m. until in beautiful downtown Holly Springs. Top musical groups in the area are lined up to provide a full day of gospel, popular and blues music, thanks to Kevin Thomas of Stixs-n-Tones in Holly Springs. Gospel bands are set for the early part of the day with popular groups lined up for the afternoon. Headliners are Stars of Faith, Anything Else and the David Kimbrough Band. Last minute shifting of schedules in the entertainment lineup could occur but the tentative schedule is as follows:
Featured again this year are free fun activities for children and free balloons, fair food and door prizes. Some merchants will be open and offer registration for a drawing for door prizes inside the stores. Other merchants and banks that are closed Saturday have contributed money for a grand prize drawing. Children’s activities will include moon jumps and pony rides. Free medical screenings will be provided by Dr. Mauk with the Family Wellness Center of Chiropractic, blood pressure screenings by Alliance HealthCare System and free eye exams by the Lions Club. Booth space is available for $25. Churches and non-profits may call the Chamber office at 252-2943 to see if they qualify for reduced booth rental fees. The event is sponsored by the City Beautiful Commission and the Chamber of Commerce and supported by merchants, bankers, businesses and realtors. Report News: (662) 252-4261
