Racor hosts open house to showcase its operation By BARRY BURLESON Parker Hannifin, Racor Division, showed off its state-of-the-art operation to 95 guests from other states and several foreign countries October 4. The Racor Holly Springs Technical Tour welcomed the company’s top distributors and members of Racor’s global team, plus division management personnel, some community leaders, and the Filtration Group president from Parker Hannifin’s corporate offices, John K. Oelslager. Guests came from places as far away as Singapore, China, Thailand, Brazil, Korea and Mexico. “This is the first tour of this nature we have had at this location, to bring people in and showcase what we do,” said Bruce Day, operations manager. “We’re trying to grow our business globally so we had representatives from all of those Parker locations as we seek that growth.” Activities included plant tours, lab tours and product presentations. There were also some off-site meetings during the week. Racor is a part of Parker Hannifin Corp., an $8.22 billion company. Locally, Racor makes heavy-duty engine air filters, crankcase ventilation filtration systems and hydrocarbon high-flow fuel filtration systems. The Holly Springs facility is one of three Racor operations in North America. Racor Holly Springs features a new hydrocarbon lab. “A big part of this open house was to showcase our lab capabilities, along with all we do in our facility,” Day said. It was also a celebration. The Holly Springs plant, due to the hard work and dedication of its employees, recently received its ISO/TS quality certification. Employees and guests were treated to lunch, which included some of Marshall County Sheriff Kenny Dickerson’s famous fried catfish. Parker Hannifin, Racor Division, in Holly Springs employs 121 people. Parker bought the operation in May 2002 and started with 85 workers. “Since then we’ve moved in other product lines and created new products,” Day said. “We’re working on another product relocation now and we’re working on a brand new product. “We’re excited about the growth. Everyone (in the company) is pleased with the work of the Holly Springs team and what we’ve accomplished here, and they, too, look forward to what the future holds.” Report News:
