Byhalia police nab drug suspect, go to various calls The Byhalia Police Department made a drug-related arrest October 4 during a traffic stop. Cortez Richmond, 35, 203 Bending Branch Cove, Byhalia, is charged with possession of controlled substance, no insurance and improper equipment, according to Chief Mike Novay. The Byhalia Police Department responded to 46 calls during the past week. Chief Novay released the following report – 11 alarm calls, two motor vehicle accidents, three domestic disturbances, four animal-related calls, two juvenile-related calls, 10 assists, four DUIs, one fire and nine miscellaneous calls. Report from Last Weekin September The Byhalia Police Department responded to 43 calls. Chief Mike Novay released the following report – 13 alarm calls, three motor vehicle accidents, two disturbances, one domestic disturbance, two thefts, one animal-related call, four juvenile-related calls, six assists, two fires and nine miscellaneous calls. Officers wrote 15 citations. Byhalia police made seven arrests on the following charges:
