Personals Jake Beck celebrates 14th birthday here with grandparents Jerry B. and Diane Beck and children, Jake and Kimball, of Glen, enjoyed spending Saturday afternoon with Joyce and Jerry Beck. While here, they were treated to lunch at Mi Pueblo’s, celebrating a belated 14th birthday for Jake. Dr. and Mrs. Ben Seale Jr., of Jackson, Andy Seale of Nashville, Tenn., and Hamilton Seale of Pensacola, Fla., spent the weekend with their parents, Ben and Robin Seale. They were in town for the Ole Miss/Georgia football game on Saturday in Oxford. Milton Winter enjoyed the Grove on Saturday with guests, Suzanne James and Bob and Cheryl Bowan. It was the first visit to the Grove for the latter three. Happy 12th birthday to Banks Carlisle, who celebrated in the Grove in Oxford on Saturday. Martha Johnson from Chattanooga, Tenn., and children, Andrew, Michelle and Brooke, spent the weekend with Gary, Lorena and Brent Adams. They all travelled to Oxford to the Grove on Saturday for the football game. The Adams’ son, Seth, is second quarterback for the Ole Miss Rebels. Jane and Charlie Farris attended the Chi Omega practice rush party on Sunday. Frannie Farris and her sorority sisters put on the skit which they will perform during rush in two weeks. Lacey Watson and Joshua Bailey to wed October 14 in Joplin, MO Brock and Lee Watson, of Joplin, Mo., are pleased to announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Lacey Amber Watson, to Joshua Lawrence Bailey, son of Daniel and Kathy Bailey, of Southaven. Joshua is the grandson of the late Lawrence and Lorene Pannell of Holly Springs. The bride-to-be is a 2005 graduate of Ouachita Baptist University. She is assistant director of Camp War Eagle in Rogers, Ark. The prospective groom is also a 2005 graduate of Ouachita Baptist University and is presently enrolled at the University of Arkansas law school in Fayetteville, Ark. An Oct. 14, 2006, wedding is planned at 4 p.m. at First Community Church in Joplin, Mo. Rev. William Brock Watson, father of the bride, and Rev. Sam Torn, of Houston, will officiate. Marcy DeBerry to wed Cedric Nevels October 21 at Antioch MB Church Marcy Lavette DeBerry and Cedric Keith Nevels have chosen Saturday, Oct. 21 as the first day of their new life together. They are inviting all family and friends to share in their joy as they exchange marriage vows. Marcy is the daughter of Thelma and Alfreda DeBerry of Byhalia. She is the granddaughter of Frances McVay of Memphis, Tenn. and the late Robert Reed, and the late Tyler and Bessie DeBerry. Cedric is the son of Clyde and Dorothy Nevels of Holly Springs. He is the grandson of the late Johnny and Ethel Stewart and the late Eben and Ada Nevels. The ceremony will take place at Antioch MB Church, 1306 Gardner Road, Victoria, at 3 p.m. with a reception to follow at Dreamland in Holly Springs. Barbara France and Jack Abby to say vows Saturday in New Albany Edith Capon of Myrtle announces the engagement and forthcoming marriage of her daughter, Barbara France of New Albany to Jack Abby of Hickory Flat. The bride-to-be is employed at Truck Driver Institute of Tupelo. The prospective groom is the son of Genevieve Abby of Hickory Flat and the grandson of Eunice Kirkland of Tuscumbia, Ala. He is employed with Big M Transportation. The wedding will be held at 1 p.m. on October 7, 2006 at the Comfort Inn in New Albany. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend. The twins were born at Baptist Women’s Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. on Sept. 27, 2006. They weighed three pounds, 11 ounces and four pounds, nine ounces. Williams Amanda (Cothern) Williams and Shane Williams are very proud to announce the birth of their twin daughters. Reagan Marie, weighing five pounds and Ryleigh Diane, four pounds, 13 ounces, were born Sept. 26, 2006 at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Ark. Maternal grandparents are Leon and Sheila Cothern of Mt. Pleasant. Paternal grandparents are Charles and Phyllis Williams of Bloomfield, Mo. Welcoming the twins home are sister, Morgan, and brother, Zachary. Jackson Coty and Katrina Jackson of Vidor, Texas announce the birth of a daughter, Kali Nakole Jackson, born Sept. 20, 2006 in Beaumont, Texas at Christus/St. Elizabeth Hospital. She weighed seven pounds, 10 ounces and was 19-1/2 inches long. Grandparents are Jimmy and Debi Jackson of Olive Branch, Mitzie and Phillip Nesbitt of Orange, Texas and Helen Baumgartner of Vidor.

Museuming The moose hunt In the interior of Alaska, my son-in-law, Larry McAlexander, went on a grand adventure. He and a friend flew to Anchorage, Alaska on a bear hunt -- he had never before hunted bear or been to Alaska. Report
