Snow Lake News

Hello Snow Lakers. I hope you had a good week.

I heard recently that Juanita Roberson’s sister, Louise Matking has passed away. Keep the Roberson family in your prayers. The following people have been in the hospital, but they are at home now; Cliff Langley; W. B. Fuller. Get well soon. Also, John Pierpont is out of the nursing home and back with his daughter, Laurie. Mr. John, we will be thinking of you. Scelette Blake’s mother has recently entered a nursing home in Alabama. Please keep the Blake’s in your prayers also. If you know of anyone sick or needing help please call Sue Graves at 224-3264.

Some good news! Peggy McCrady has a new granddaughter.

More good news! We are going to have a wedding! Delona Roach (from Snow Lake) and Jim Reid (from Memphis) are getting married in February at the Holly Springs Catholic Church. Congratulations!

Have you seen Snow Lake’s new fire engine? It’s long, sleek and red.

The $185.105 vehicle is a new state-of-the-art fire truck, a 2006 Kenworth Model T300 and it’s free! It was covered completely by federal and state grants, through the efforts of our fire chief Flake Farmer and his firemen. As Flake Said “We’re tickled pink.”

Get ready for the Bluegrass Festival on July l, 2006! We have already started working on the events, engaged the bands, and making plans for fireworks! Security has come into place with so many events that we have to provide insurance for the shooting of fireworks. The insurance is an added expense so if anyone would like to make a contribution toward this, just contact the Town or Corporation office. Thanks for your help.

Our Quote: From “Gentle Thoughts.” “The thing which makes one man greater than another, the quality by which we ought to measure greatness, is a man’s capacity for loving.”

Have a good week, and hope to see you next week.
