Holly Springs Intermediate School News

The fourth, fifth and sixth grade classes at Holly Springs Intermediate School are in need of volunteers to tutor and/or monitor in the classroom so that the teacher can devote more time to one-on-one and small group instruction. You may volunteer any day between 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. If you would like to volunteer, contact the school at 252-2329 or Beverly Phillips at the Parent Center at 252-7733. Your volunteerism will help our school attain “Level 3 by 2006.”

The Intermediate School Parent Center is open daily. Don’t let your child be left behind! You can check out free education games to help your child at home. The center maintains a wide variety of video tapes, books on a variety of topics including parenting skills, how to help with homework, drug and alcohol prevention, conflict resolution, and much more. Also available for parents to check out are computerized games in reading. Language arts, science, math, social studies and thinking skills. We will be calling on parents and community leaders to volunteer for activities that will be held during the month of February.

Friday, Jan. 13, students were out of uniform if they paid $1. This was part of the PTA Fundraiser.

Each student is asked to read three books a month. Parents, support your child in this reading challenge.
