SUE WATSON Marshall County Sheriff Kenny Dickerson was tapped for recognition by the Mississippi Senate and House of Representatives for his outstanding service to the community and state following the kidnapping and recovery of a child living in the Laws Hill community in July. County gets grant to move water facilities; ARC funds will boost infrastructure The Appalachian Regional Commission has approved a $96,000 grant to assist the Marshall County Board of Supervisors in relocating two existing water mains and a water treatment plant cable to accommodate expansion of an access road within the Chickasaw Trail Industrial Park. U. S. Rep. Roger Wicker and Sens. Thad Cochran and Trent Lott said the money will be combined with $24,000 in local funds to move the facilities after they were exposed during construction work. The access road between Wingo Road and Goodman Road is being widened to accommodate the new 845,000 square foot warehousing and distribution center, which employs 250 people. These infrastructure improvements are being undertaken by Marshall County Supervisors and the Marshall County Industrial Development Authority to meet the demands of residential and industrial growth in the northwest part of the county. It is anticipated that the 2,600- acre industrial park will be a hub for industrial growth.
