News Family celebration held July 21-23 How good it is to settle down after being on what seems like a merry-go-round. Now that I have had an opportunity to sit quietly and the streets of my mind have simmered from endless traffic, I am ready to bring y’all up to date on my news. Let’s start by keeping the dreams of our heart alive. For as long as a person dreams, they cannot lose the significance of living. The dream of the heart is our outlet. These dreams are the living water welling up from the very spring of our being, the ones that nourish and sustain life. The Nabors family found this to be true this summer as they celebrated the coming together of the Willie Nabors Boothe Hamilton family. The reunion was held at Kirkwood Golf facilities July 21-23, ending with worship service on Sun., July 23 at Greenfield Presbyterian Church in Waterford. With children and grandchildren around, this started my merry-go-round summer. I have truly enjoyed myself. I just returned from visiting my son Ephraim and his daughter Riley in Atlanta, Ga. While in Georgia, I also had an opportunity to visit with my other children, Alvin and Carliss Curry and Regina Curry. I attended church with Ephraim at the Crossroad Presbyterian Church, but I am glad to be back at home and in services at Greenfield Presbyterian. Sat., Sept. 2, little Kamdon D’Angelo Glover celebrated his second birthday. The yard was filled with both young and old as they shared in the fun and games offered. It was good to see children having fun like children and the laughter reminded me of the days when we would all gather for fun at an aunt or uncle’s home. Sunday we had a wonderful service and were blessed by our young adults in attendance. The pastor, Rev. Coker, had a wonderful sermon from Mark 7:1-8, 14-15, 21-23, explaining what it is in our hearts that makes us true Christians. The liturgist was Min. Evelyn Elliott and Deacon Robert Curry read the Old and New Testament Scripture readings and the choir sang beautifully. Sat., Sept. 16, the Session, deacons and congregation are invited to join the session and planning committee for its yearly budget and calendar meeting at 2 p.m. In addition, Sun., Sept. 24, immediately following morning worship service we will have a congregational meeting. The Greenfield Presbyterian Church family will celebrate Family and Friends Day Sun., Sept. 24. We invite all family and friends to join us for this fun-filled event. The program is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. and we hope to have activities for all. Sat., Sept. 9, District 15, Order of Eastern Star will hold a workshop at Waterford Lodge. The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. Report News:
