MA downs Lady Colts, avenges loss By BARRY BURLESON The Marshall Academy Lady Patriots recorded two wins last week – an easy one on Monday and then a very satisfying one on Tuesday. MA routed Kirk 16-3 August 21 in Grenada. Mandy Bolden led the offense with three hits. Getting two hits each were Courtney Gibson, Lauren Alexander and Heather Tomlinson. Casey Gibson picked up the pitching victory. She gave up just three hits, struck out one and walked one. The Lady Patriots then tasted sweet revenge against the Bayou Colts Tuesday at home. They won 7-2. Bayou had beaten Marshall earlier in the season. Winning pitcher Alexander gave up six hits, struck out two and walked one. Powering the offense with three hits each were Bolden and Courtney Gibson. Adding two hits each were H. Tomlinson and Casey Gibson. Traci Rodgers also added a hit. Marshall, which improved to 6-4 on the season, was scheduled to host Lee (Marianna, Ark.) on Monday of this week and then travel to Magnolia Heights on Tuesday. Thursday, the Lady Patriots will host Delta at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, they will travel to Lee (Marianna, Ark.) for a 4 p.m. matchup. Report News:
