By BARRY BURLESON
Byhalia police officers nabbed four burglary suspects red-handed August 16.
Chief Mike Novay said a report of a possible break-in at a town residence was telephoned in by a neighbor. Police immediately responded and “caught them in the act,” he said.
Three adults and one 17-year-old juvenile were arrested and each charged with burglary of a dwelling and possession of a controlled substance. Novay said the adults arrested were Remarko Sanders, 33, of 51 Coffelt Cove, Byhalia; Christopher Brown, 18, of 157 Quinn Road, Byhalia; and Maurice Sanders, 37, of 82 Schoolhouse Road, Byhalia.
In a separate incident, Novay said James Buford, 44, of 1908 Chulahoma Road, Holly Springs, was arrested August 14 and charged with felony possession of a weapon, careless driving, driving while license suspended and open container.
Police officers responded to 28 calls last week. Novay released the following report – four alarm calls, one motor vehicle accident, one burglary, five disturbances, one domestic disturbance, one theft, one escort, two juvenile-related calls, three assists, four fires and five miscellaneous calls.
Officers issued 27 citations.
