Police investigate several break-ins By BARRY BURLESON The Holly Springs Police Department advises it will be conducting checkpoints throughout the city during the Labor Day holiday. Chief Patricia Selman said the department will be issuing citations for DUIs, outstanding warrants, suspended licenses, etc. These checkpoints are part of the national DUI enforcement program. Selman also reported several break-ins last week. A breaking and entering occurred in the 400 block of Peyton Road. An unknown amount of cash was taken. The breaking and entering of a residence was reported in the 200 block of South Center Street. An air-conditioning unit, valued at $150, was stolen. A robbery occurred in the 100 block of Rust Avenue, with $166 taken. A breaking and entering was reported in the 800 block of Old Hudsonville Road. Two Vanguard heaters, valued at $538, were taken. A vehicle was taken in a grand larceny in the 1000 block of West Woodward. It is described as a red, 1981 Chevy 1500.
