Lake News Community plans yard sale October 7 Hello Snow Lakers. I hope you had a good week. I am still waiting for rain, aren’t you? Billy Morton on Snow Lake Drive is recuperating very well. I heard he had a set-back with his medicine but he is doing all right now, just a slow go. We will be thinking of you. If you know of anyone sick or needing help please call Sue Graves, 224-3264. Keep this date in mind! October 7 - the Community Center and Ladies Fire Auxiliary will have a yard sale on that date. We need all the merchandise we can get. Leave your merchandise at Joan Martinez’s house on Snow Lake Drive, or the Ashland Outlet on Hwy 4. More info will follow. There will also be a cake sale, so keep the oven on! Are you keeping your outdoor containers empty of water to help prevent the outbreak of the West Nile virus? I heard recently that Mississippi has had two deaths due to the West Nile Virus. In addition to keeping your containers empty, avoid mosquito prone areas, use insect repellents that contain DEET. If you want more information please call 1-877-978-6453 - toll free. Let’s do our share. Thanks. Here I am, on my soap box again! Please put your garbage in a tight container that animals cannot get into. I passed one location this week-end and the critters had scattered garbage over a ten-foot area and nothing has been done to clean it up. I have offered before and my offer still stands. If you need hooks to put on a post to hold your cans upright until the garbage truck picks them up, or if you also need a post, I will install one, at no cost to you. All you need to do is call me - 224-3913. If I am not at home, please leave a message. I may be on vacation, but I will get to you as soon as I get back. Keep the Red Hat Society in mind. I was unable to attend the first organizational meeting at Annies’ in Holly Springs, but I understand it was a success and another meeting will be Thursday, August 24. (Sorry I had the wrong date in last week’s paper). However keep watching. Call Dixie Stevens at 224-8604 for info. Also, are you interested in discussing foreign policy? Join a Great Decisions group, sponsored by the Foreign Policy Association. Questions? Call Dixie Stevens at 224-8604. Coming Events:
