Snow
Lake News Red Hat organization meets Thursday Hello Snow Lakers. I hope you had a good week. I am ready for some rain, aren’t you? The weatherman has announced we should have some soon. Billy Morton on Snow Lake Drive is recuperating very well. I talked with his wife, Margaret, and she said that after a very close call, he is improving slowly. Glad to have you back home Billy. Margaret and Billy wish to express their thanks to Flake Farmer and Kathy Graves, EMTs for their quick response when Billy needed assistance. It is wonderful to know there is someone to help when we have a problem. I made a mistake last week when I mentioned that Mr. Sweeden passed away. I called him Sam Sweeden, but his name was Laverne ‘Blackie’ Sweeden on Ferrell Rd. We want the family to know we are thinking of them. I saw Bobby Roberson on Lake View Drive recently and want report he is doing better. He has been diagnosed and being treated, so we are hopeful that will ease the problem. Keep hanging in there Bobby! We wish to express our sympathy to the Zarnstorff family. Louise’s brother-in-law in Maryland, passed away. We will be thinking of you. If you know of anyone sick or needing help please call Sue Graves, 224-3264. Keep this date in mind! October 7 - the Community Center and Ladies Fire Auxiliary will have a yard sale on that date. We need all the merchandise we can get. Leave your merchandise at Joan Martinez’s house on Snow Lake Drive, or the Ashland Outlet on Hwy. 4. More info will follow. There will also be a cake sale, so keep the oven on! Are you keeping your outdoor containers empty of water to help prevent the outbreak of the West Nile Virus? I heard on the news that it had been reported in several areas in Memphis. Let’s do our share. Thanks. Don’t forget ---If you are a lady over fifty and want to wear a Red Hat and have more fun, keep reading. I was unable to attend the luncheon and organizational meeting at Annies’ in Holly Springs last Thursday, but I understand it was a success and another meeting will be Thursday, August 30. However keep watching; call Dixie Stevens at 224-8604 for info. Also, are you interested in discussing foreign policy? Join a Great Decisions group, sponsored by the Foreign Policy Association. An organizational meeting was held at the Marshall County Library, Wednesday, August 2 at 2 p.m. Questions? Call Dixie Stevens at 224-8604. Coming Events:
