Groups plan benefits for Shaw family By SUE WATSON An outpouring of concern and support for young Morgan Shaw and her family of the Laws Hill community got underway last weekend with a car wash and bake sale Saturday in the parking lots of Holly Springs First Baptist Church and Christ Episcopal Church. A group of young people organized the fund-raiser and worked several hours publicizing the event and washing cars. “The children organized it,” said Lisa Shaw of Holly Springs. “Their hearts went out to Morgan, and they wanted to do this to help.” Monies raised will be used to defray the medical expenses for the 6-year-old who underwent surgery last week in Memphis for wounds sustained following her kidnapping Saturday, July 22.
