Jimmy Hicks, baseball coach at Marshall Academy, hosted a baseball camp
for youngsters in two sessions – July 10-14 and July 17-20. He was
assisted by some of his varsity Patriots. The camp focused on “every
aspect of the game,” Hicks said, including hitting, pitching, fielding,
base-running, bunting and sliding. About 25 attended – 10 the first
week and 15 the next. “It was a good camp,” Hicks said. “The
kids learned a lot of the basics and had a lot of fun.

Just this past week, I was asked a second
time if there would be an article on the WNBA before the season was over.
Since it was not the same lady who asked I thought it might be a good
thing to look into. I can remember telling the first inquirer that I would
not forget to do an article.
