Part of road closed for bridge repair By SUE WATSON The long bridge over the Coldwater River on North Red Banks Road is closed to traffic until it is replaced, according to county engineer Larry Britt. Open house set on proposed power line The Tennessee Valley Authority will hold an open house to take public comment on a proposed route and two alternate routes for a power line that will connect existing power lines to a new substation planned for the Mt. Pleasant area. The substation will be built by the Holly Springs Electric Department. Sheriff’s department nabs two on burglary charges Two suspects were arrested and charged with the burglary of a dwelling in the Armour Cove area July 8, according to Sheriff Kenny Dickerson. Gregory Shane Hope, 26, of 140 Marshview Lane, Byhalia, and Jeremy Shane Moore, 20, of 415 West Cox Road, Byhalia, were arrested and charged with burglary July 11, following an investigation into the theft of a stove and dishwasher from the residence, Dickerson said. Investigators said they found items they believed to be parts of one of the stolen items below the burglarized residence and saw 4-wheeler tracks in a field near the location of the parts. The stove and dishwasher were recovered at another residence. Both suspects were being held in jail on $10,000 bond. Police investigate burglaries The Holly Springs Police Department reported larceny, burglary and aggravated assault calls July 17-22. Police Chief Patricia Selman released the following report.
