School starts soon

The first day of school for students in the Marshall County School District is Thursday, Aug. 3. Students in the Holly Springs School District will go back to classes on Monday, Aug. 7.

Marshall Academy students begin the 2006-07 school year on Thursday, Aug. 17. They will go half-a-day on August 17 and 18. The first full day of school is Monday, Aug. 21.

Students at Holy Family School will go back to classes on Thursday, Aug. 10.

Orientation set for Holly Springs third graders

Holly Springs Intermediate School announces third grade/new student orientation.

The orientation is set for Thursday, Aug. 3, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the school.

Students are invited to meet the principals, meet the teachers, tour the school and be introduced to general requirements.

Inducted
Renita Monae Isom of Holly Springs was among the Delta State University students inducted into Phi Eta Sigma freshman honor society. Inductees must compile a minimum quality point average of 3.5 on 14 or more hours of academic work as first semester freshmen. In addition, the number is limited to five percent of the total freshmen enrolled.

Intermediate School needing uniforms

Holly Springs Intermediate School Parent Center is in need of school uniforms for the 2006-07 school year. Parents, you can bring those uniforms that your child can no longer wear to the Parent Center. For more information you can call Beverly Phillips at the Parent Center, 252-7733.
