EducationHolly Springs Parent Center open daily; parents encouraged to visit Holly Springs Primary School held parent teacher conferences and report card pickup on Wed., Jan. 11. Parent attendance was a great success. Parents were informed about their childrens report card and visits to the Parent Center were recommended. All parents and the community are invited to visit the Parent Center. The Center is open daily from 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday-Friday on and Tuesdays until 4. Mississippi College scholarship established to honor Geraldine Gholson Gerald and Patricia Hasselman recently established an endowed scholarship at Mississippi College in honor of Gerald Hasselmans mother. Dr. Hasselman is an associate professor and director of educational leadership at MC. The Geraldine Johnson Gholson Endowed Nursing Scholarship recognizes Mrs. Gholsons nursing career which spanned almost 60 years. The scholarship will be awarded annually with preference given to a student from Holly Springs, or a graduate of Oxford High School. The Hasselmans are both natives of Holly Springs and graduates of Holly Springs High School. Gerald Hasselman is the former principal of Oxford High School and Patricia Hasselman taught at Oxford Junior High School. Correction: The following names were inadvertently omitted from the Mary Reid School honor roll for the second nine weeks published in last weeks edition.
