• 4-H MEETING The Lessye Lee Davis 4-H Club will meet at the Marshall County Library at 6 p.m. New members welcome.

• MIDWEEK SERVICE Mt. Moriah MB Church, 3193 Marianna Rd., Thurs., Jan. 19, 7 p.m. Rev. Glenn Johnson of Isom Chapel will be the guest speaker.

• PTA MEETING H.W. Byers monthly PTA meeting will be Thurs., Jan. 19, 6 p.m. in the school cafeteria. Everyone is encouraged to come out.

• SECOND TIME AROUND The Marshall County Humane Society’s thrift store, Second Time Around, 126 W. Van Dorn, located next to Bailey Printing in Holly Springs, will be open Fri. from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Sat., 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Call 662-564-2900 for pick-up information on your donation.

• FAMILY WORKSHOP Rev. Denise Anders Modest and the members of Anderson Chapel CME Church will have a Family Encounter Workshop, Jan. 20, 7 p.m. and Jan. 21 at 9 a.m. The public is invited.

• Winter Blues horse show at Marshall County Fairgrounds, 4 p.m. Gates open at 2 p.m. For more info. call 252-5441. If snow or ice, show will be cancelled.

• MEETING The Holly Springs Marshall County Baptist Assoc. executive board will meet Sat., Jan. 21, 10 a.m. at the Baptist Assoc. building.

• SINGING Clear Creek Baptist Church, Jan. 21, with fellowship supper at 6 p.m. and singing at 7 p.m. with the Kennedy family.

• SPAY/NEUTER PROGRAM The Marshall County Humane Society’s low cost spay/neuter program will be open at 646 Old Hwy 78 E. Call 252-6196 for the necessary appointment.

January 25

• PRIVATE APPLICATOR TRAINING The Marshall County Extension Service will offer a Private Applicator Training on Wed., Jan. 25, at 1:30 p.m. at the Extension office, 810 Highway 178 East, Holly Springs. This training is for farmers and is not intended as training for commercial applicators. Producers wishing to become certified or re-certified, or need additional information, are asked to call the Marshall County Extension Service at 662-252-3541 prior to the training date.

• KICK-OFF MEETING The American Cancer Society, Marshall County Relay for Life, invite everyone to the annual kick-off, Jan. 26, 6 p.m. at the library. Get your team together and come register. Honorary chairpersons, Gwen Gill and Vernell Winter.

• BALL REGISTRATION Byhalia Sports Association will hold registration for spring and summer girls softball for ages 7-16 and youth baseball for ages 4 through 14 on Sat., Feb. 4, from 1-4 p.m. in the cafeteria of Byhalia High School. Please be prepared to turn in a photocopy of your child's birth certificate and a recent school picture. • BROWN BAG LUNCH Friends of the Library, Brown Bag lunch, will meet at 11:30 a.m. in the Marshall County Library with a speaker at 12 noon. Bring a sandwich; drinks and dessert provided.

• MEETING Marshall County Retired Education Personnel will meet Fri., Feb. 10, 1 p.m. at the Marshall County Library. That will be Honors Day.
