Snow
Lake News Summer visitor Maureen Baronner loves community, may stay permanently Hello Snow Lakers. I hope you had a good week. The hot weather has kept us in the house most of the week. Hope you have survived. I had a wonderful surprise last week. I had a surprise birthday party, (39 again), and it was just great. My husband and daughter did all the planning with help from the guests, and it was just perfect. We had lots of folks, fun, food, flowers and festivities and then we had a sleep-over. It was a 24-hour party. I will remind them that I will be 39 again next year. John Sealy, a former resident and still a property owner, had an operation recently, but now he is home recuperating. Get well soon John. Elizabeth Ross on Snow Lake Drive is home now and doing fine. Glad to hear you are doing so good Elizabeth. Ronald West entered the hospital again last week for observation. He is looking forward to coming home soon. Billy Morton on Snow Lake Drive has been in the hospital, and I hear that after his operation he is recuperating very well. We hope he will be home soon. If you know of anyone sick or needing help please call Sue Graves, 224-3264. Keep this date in mind! October 7 - the Community Center and Ladies Fire Auxiliary will have a yard sale on that date. We need all the merchandise we can get. Leave your merchandise at Joan Martinez’s house on Snow Lake Drive, or the Ashland Outlet on Hwy 4. More info will follow. Have you lost a dog? On the West side there is lost male, brown, black, and white beagle. He has been there for several weeks. He is very shy, but will stay around just long enough to get some food. If he is your dog - just check around l046 Lake View Drive. If you are a lady over 50 and want to wear a Red Hat and have more fun, plan to attend a luncheon and organizational meeting at Annie’s in Holly Springs, Thursday, July 27 at 11:30 a.m. Call Dixie Stevens at 224-8604 for info. Also, are you interested in discussing foreign policy? Join a Great Decisions group, sponsored by the Foreign Policy Association. An organizational meeting will be held at the Marshall County Library, Wednesday, August 2 at 2 p.m. Questions? Call Dixie Stevens at 224-8604. We have a young lady spending her summer in Snow Lake. She is Maureen Baronner, from Pennsylvania. She is the sister of Brian Traugh on Lake View Drive, and is house sitting and looking after ‘Al’, Brian’s big white dog, while he is working in Maine at the veterans hospital - he will return in August. Maureen is so taken with Snow Lake that she has been looking for work as a high school history teacher. If you know of an opening in that field, please call me at 224-3919 or the Mosely’s at 224-6817. Good Luck Maureen - we would like to have you as a resident. Coming Events: July 22 - 6:30 p.m. Potluck. Aug 7 - 7 p.m. Town meeting. Oct. 7 - 8 a.m. Yard sale. Remember, guests are always welcome to come to any of our events. Our Quote: “From Gentle Thoughts:” “Correction does much, but encouragement does more. Encouragement after censure is as the sun after a shower.” Have a good week, and hope to see you next week.
