Rust hosts golf classic Friday morning, July 7, Rust College kicked off its Eighth Reunion of Reunions with its 2006 Alumni and Friends Golf Classic at Kirkwood National Golf Club in Holly Springs. Wright’s Flooring Service tasted sweet victory with a combined score of 63 against several competitive teams. The winning team was sponsored by Arthur Wright, owner of Wright’s Flooring Service. Second place was awarded to Team Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity team - Henry Hood, Dale DeBerry, and Mayor Andre’ DeBerry - with a score of 65; and third place went to the Bank of Holly Springs team - Garry Bray, Steve Gresham, S.B. “Tubby” Gresham and Don Hollingsworth - with a score of 68. Other notables were Willie Rush of Team Rush, a 1976 Rust graduate, who made the longest drive, and Ted Mouken, of Team Lan One, who shot the closest to the pin. Other participating teams included Team Serenity Funeral Home and Team Higgins.
