City police officers investigate rash of larceny incidents The Holly Springs Police Department is investigating several grand larceny incidents. A grand larceny was reported July 1 in the 200 block of Martin Luther King Drive. A 1999 dark green Ford Ranger was taken. A breaking and entering of a commercial building occurred in the 100 block of East Van Dorn. Wilbur Cannon, 46, Holly Springs, was arrested after being found inside the business, according to police chief Patricia Selman. Two grand larcenies were reported on July 4. The first took place in the 200 block of Memphis Street. A 2004 burgundy Ford Taurus was taken from the business. The second occurred in the 300 block of West Street. A 1993 dark green Eagle Vision was reported stolen. The thief also reportedly took two rings valued at $200 each and 20 CDs valued at around $300. Another breaking and entering was reported on July 5 in the 800 block of Hudsonville Road. The owner reported nothing appeared to have been stolen from the residence. Two complete rescue school By SUE WATSON Holly Springs Fire Chief Kenny Holbrook and fireman Don Buford completed a four-day CARS (Certified Advanced Rescue School) a few weeks ago. CARS is one of the toughest courses taught, Holbrook said. Report News:
