News Miller’s Court to host District Grand Lodge July 15 Elcue and Elmira Curry were honored on Father’s Day with the presence of their niece and great-niece, Magdalene Hughes and Ayarrie Moore. Creed Walker and Regina Walker were honored on Father’s Day to have their son, Calvin Walker, his wife, and three of their children and their daughter, Lorraine Walker, all from Dallas, Tex. Celebrating in a small church can be wonderful for those who join in the fellowship of love find God’s presence in the midst of all they do. On July 4, we had a wonderful time as Catina, Tony and Evelyn put out the chairs, food and all the games for the children and their guests. It was wonderful to see so many families gathering to eat, drink and be merry. It was all good, clean fun and the children had a blast. On Saturday, July 8, family and friends gathered at Greenfield as William C. Allen and Demetria L. Burke joined their lives together to become one. The ceremony was beautiful and so were the bride and groom. On Sunday, July 10, the youth and their director, Deacon Catina Newsom prepared refreshments for all after worship service. We thank God for all who helped to celebrate the birthdays of all our June and July honorees. All glory and honor belong to God for giving us an opportunity to witness on both occasions. For the pastor was able to lift the spirits of the congregation Sunday during regular service after we learned that one of our faithful members who was at the celebration on Saturday evening was taken to the hospital Sunday morning. As Pastor George preached from Mark 6:1-13, we were reminded of our call to serve and the mission opportunities that are before us. Thus, we know that God’s grace is enough and that is all we need. As we continue in our weakness that becomes strength with God. Miller’s Court 301 Heroines of Jericho will host the District Grand Lodge meeting Saturday, July 15 at Asbury UM Church in Holly Springs.
