Theft suspects arrested By SUE WATSON Sheriff Kenny Dickerson reported investigations and arrests in several burglaries and an auto break-in during the last week. A break-in of a grocery at Wall Hill Road in the early morning Saturday, June 24, was investigated, leading to the arrests of two suspects. Kenny Newsom, 20, of 795 Wall Hill Road, Byhalia, and Demertic Leverson, 26, of the McClinton Road area in Senatobia, were charged with burglary of a commercial dwelling, with bond set at $5,000 each, Dickerson said. The two suspects were still in the Marshall County jail Monday. In a separate incident, two vehicles were broken into at Mt. Olive Church in the Wall Hill Road area. Some items were recovered two hours later by Marshall and Benton County sheriff’s departments. Two suspects have been identified but had not been located and arrested as of Monday, Dickerson said. Over the weekend, a Honda four-wheeler was stolen from a location off Clark Road in Barton. Shortly after the report of the incident, investigators recovered the four-wheeler and identified a suspect, Dickerson said. Jimmy Blake Nelson, 18, of 7600 Payne Lane in Olive Branch was arrested and charged with grand larceny Saturday, June 24, he said. Bond was set for Nelson at $5,000 and he remained in jail Monday. Sunday afternoon, June 25, sheriff’s deputies were called to a residence on Bubba Taylor Road where a burglary of a storage shed was reported. Dickerson said a witness called law officers after seeing a suspicious pickup parked in the area. “One suspect fled in the truck and another fled on foot,” Dickerson said. “A few hours later sheriff’s officers had one suspect in custody near Olive Branch.” Items stolen from the shed were recovered and one suspect, Allen Walls, 40, of the Olive Branch address area, was taken into custody by DeSoto County sheriff’s officers. He is expected to be returned to face charges in Marshall County, Dickerson said. The other suspect has been identified, according to the sheriff. Report News:
