Chamber After Hours visits daylily nursery By SUE WATSON Sheperd Farm Daylily Nursery at 384 Turner Cove in Red Banks is the place to go for anyone who wants to see fields of daylilies in full bloom. County Habitat builds new house By SUE WATSON Thanks to lots of volunteer help, Marshall County Habitat for Humanity is putting up its fifth new house which will be home to a family before summer’s end. Dry spell broken; winds rough up trees By SUE WATSON Marshall Countians are getting the rain many have hoped for to freshen their yards, gardens and crops. Over the weekend several inches of rain fell across the area beginning Saturday afternoon. Late Sunday, Holly Springs got another soaker with some damage from straight line winds, according to fire chief Kenny Holbrook with the City of Holly Springs. Local couple celebrates Memorial Day in Washington, D.C. Danny Tate of Potts Camp is a veteran who spent 17-1/2 months in Vietnam. He and his wife, Linda, rode their Goldwing motorcycle to Washington and were among the 600,000 Vietnam veterans in Washington, D.C. to observe Memorial Day. Holly Springs police want emergency numbers The Holly Springs Police Department requests local businesses register their emergency contact numbers with the police department, according to chief Patricia Selman. “In the case of burglary, alarm, or other incident, the department would have a contact number to reach the appropriate individual to come to the business and assist with giving important information that could help officers with an investigation,” Selman said. Incidents A Shadow Lane resident reported vandalism inside the residence on June 14. Nothing appeared stolen from the residence. A Holly Springs man, Kedrin Ambrose, 25, was arrested June 17 and charged with felony possession of crack cocaine in the area of North Center Street and Falconer, according to Selman.
