Personals Robert Woods escorts Bailey Owens in Crown and Sceptre Coronation Ball Cory Valentine, son of Johnny Valentine of Holly Springs, has been selected from 90,000 applicants to run in the New York City Marathon on November 5, which also happens to be his birthday. Way to go, Cory! Attending Crown and Sceptre Coronation Ball Friday, June 2, at the Hilton Memphis were Christy and Keith Owens, their guests, Bob and Donna Woods, whose son, Robert, was escorting their daughter, Bailey; and Charlie and Jane Farris with their guests, Patti and Fred Carlisle, whose son, Thomas, was escorting their daughter, Frannie. On Saturday night, June 3, the Owens and the Farrises attended the Princess Ball at the Tower Room. Bailey was escorted by Robert Woods and Frannie was escorted by Patrick Sala of Memphis. The girls and their parents attended a Carnival Brunch on Sunday, June 4, at the Chickasaw Country Club. Holly Springs was well represented at the Cotton Carnival this season both by the girls and their escorts. Everyone had a wonderful time. Sarah Kinkade and Shawn McCarley will exchange vows Saturday in Kinkade home Sarah Kinkade and Shawn McCarley will be united in marriage on Saturday, June 17, 2006. Sarah is the daughter of William and Debbie Kinkade and the sister of Joey Kinkade, all of Byhalia. Shawn is the son of Wanda Camper of Byhalia, and the late Ron Camper. Sarah and Shawn will be married at the home of Bill and Debbie Kinkade. A reception will immediately follow the ceremony. Couple to wed at Mt. Zion-Taska Church Nola Garrison of Byhalia announces the forthcoming marriage of her daughter, Elizabeth Garrison of Byhalia to James Norton of Lamar, son of James L. Norton of Blue Mountain and Mrs. Arlean Norton of Lamar. The wedding ceremony will be held June 17 at 3 p.m. at Mt. Zion Taska Church. A reception will immediately follow at the VFW in Collierville, Tenn. After a honeymoon, the couple will make their home in Olive Branch. All family and friends are cordially invited to attend. Miss Ann Ostenson to wed Dr. Ben Seale July 15 at North Park Presbyterian Church Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Lloyd Ostenson of Alpharetta, Ga., announce the engagement of their daughter, Ann Downing, to Dr. Ben Williamson Seale, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Williamson Seale of Holly Springs. Wedding vows will be exchanged at 2 o’clock in the afternoon on July 15, 2006 at North Park Presbyterian Church in Jackson. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Weilenmen Jordan of Greenville and Dr. and Mrs. Robert James Ostenson of Clinton. The prospective groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Samuel Walker of Palm Harbor, Fla., the late Dr. John Milton Higgason of Chattanooga, Tenn., and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Hansel Seale of Holly Springs. Miss Ostenson is a graduate of Jackson Academy. She attended the University of Mississippi where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and a masters in art education. While at the University, she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She taught art in Atlanta for two years and is presently teaching art at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Jackson. Dr. Seale is a graduate of Marshall Academy in Holly Springs. He attended the University of Mississippi, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree, and was a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. In 2004, he was graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. This summer, Dr. Seale is entering his final year of internal medicine residency. He has accepted a two year endocrinology fellowship at U.M.C. to begin in July 2007. Birth Holmes Mark and Lorrie Holmes of Brandon announce the birth of their son, Mark Tyler, born Monday, April 10, 2006 at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. He weighed eight pounds, 10 ounces and was 21-1/2 inches long. Maternal grandparents are Carol Wiseman and the late Leon Wiseman of Byhalia. Paternal grandparents are Jacky and Virginia Holmes of Holly Springs. Ty was welcomed home by his big sister Austyn and big brother Will. Report
