News Waterford Lodge celebrates open house In Rev. George’s sermons, on both Pentecost and Trinity Sundays, he spoke so elegantly about the Spirit of the Lord. Rev. George preached beautiful messages surrounding the theme of Pentecost and of the Trinity. Min. Evelyn Elliott was liturgist for both services. Hearing the messages moved our members to do more and become the servants that God ordained them to be. Entering the church on Sunday and leaving to serve has been the church goal and motto. With this in mind, Sun., June 4, Elmira Curry, Mary Mull and Theria Walker visited in the homes of Gheeler Jones and Mary L. Dean. Theria Walker also spent time with Min. Elliott and Elcue and Elmira Curry. We were pleased with the friendship and fellowship. Sat., June 10, Waterford Lodge No. 450 celebrated the day with an open house and was honored to have so many in attendance. The program opened with devotion from Waterford Lodge No. 459, welcome by Bro. Tracy Jeffries, history of the Lodge by Bro. Levan Miller, WM/DGL, and the male chorus presented a selection before the history of M.W. Stringer Grand Lodge was presented by Rev. Arthur Herod Sr., 33, Deputy Grand Joshua of John L. Webb High Court. Food and fun was also shared by all. Many thanks to the wonderful cooks and all those who helped celebrate the occasion. A special thank you to Bro. James Coleman for providing us with music for the day. The youth of Walton Chapel held their youth day program this past Sunday. The message was from Evangelist Mary Thomas. Mistress of ceremony was Eula Thomas, who also sponsored the program. Music was provided by Greenfield Presbyterian youth. Musical keyboard selection by Nmele George and Sharonda Shields, who both played beautifully. Readings by Rosette George, Ontario Fitts and Mardea George. Walton Chapel CME and Greenfield Presbyterian Church families invite everyone to revival June 19-21 at Walton Chapel CME Church. Guest speaker is Rev. Joe T. Lester, along with the Isom Chapel Church family. We at Greenfield again say thank you to all who helped make our Calendar Drive program on May 28 a success and Deacon Robert Curry thanked everyone again on Sunday to include those he might have missed before. Min. Evelyn Elliott would like to thank the angels in Waterford (Barbara and Martha) who helped her and her grandson Kamdon get home from the post office last Friday. Thanks and may God bless you!
