Snow
Lake News Memorial service set to honor John Pierpont Sunday Hello Snow Lakers. I hope you had a good week. Our week was wonderful. We have been looking at plants again, to fill in the open spaces. We have such a long and steep lot that makes it hard to carry anything heavy down to the lakeside. Now we are looking at yard tractors - just something to keep covered up and out of sight. Jan McGroom on Snow Lake Drive was in the hospital recently, but she is home now; she has to return to the hospital three times a week for treatments. Idlett West has returned home from the hospital and seems to be doing much better. She recently had hip surgery, and she is recovering nicely at this time. Ronald West, Idlett’s husband entered the hospital’s critical care unit last week. He is responding to treatment and hopefully he will be home soon. We have just heard that Ann and Al Hammer have moved to Christopher’s in Holly Springs. Nancy Loftiss of Snow Lake Drive returned to the hospital last week, but hopefully she will be home soon. John Ross’ brother, Virgil Ross of Booneville, is critically ill but he is still home. Keep all of the above people in your thoughts and prayers. Hopefully, the decisions made for them will be for the best. I don’t know the details yet but, Frances Poe will be entering the hospital very soon with a back problem. If you know of anyone sick or needing help please call Sue Graves, 224-3264. We are getting ready for the Bluegrass Festival on July1! Have you seen the signs at the East entranace? Take a look! Don’t forget ----- the professional fireworks. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to the fireworks fund. If you want to contribute, please contact Town Hall or the Corporation Office. Regarding the festival, just call me at 662-224-3913. We are hoping to have several boats in the boat parade. We would like for you to decorate but is isn’t necessary. We just want lots of boats in the parade. Watch the papers for the schedule. We are also looking for vendors ---- if you or your friends need a booth, please call 224-0065 or 224-3913. It will be twelve hours (plus) of good, clean, fun! The 48th annual meeting of the corporation had a good turnout last Saturday. All the seats were filled. President C.Y. Graves gave us a good report of what has been accomplished the past year and what to expect in the coming year. Emily Koen won the door prize of $l00. Congratulations Emily! Coming Events: Sunday, June 11 - 1 p.m. - Laurie Pierpont is inviting all her friends to a memorial service for her father, John Pierpont, who passed away recently. Lunch will be served - she has scheduled this right after church; in line with your lunch, so she would love for you to attend and spend some time remembering her father, Mr. John. Tuesday, June 13 - 1 p.m. - Friendship meeting. Saturday, June 17 - 7-9 a.m. Breakfast, followed by corporation meeting at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 24 - Potluck - Y’all come! Remember, guests are always welcome at any of our events. Our Quote: “The thing to remember is what is important when you are fishing. Always remember that you are fishing, and that you are fishing because you enjoy it. Thus, it is the fishing that is important.” A postscript -- catching is nice too, but the fishing is the important part. After enough fishing the catching will come. This was written by a resident of Snow Lake. Thanks Dick. Have a good week. Report News:
