Miami, trying to reprise their role of a year ago when they dashed the hopes of the New Jersey Nets in these same playoffs, is now one game away from moving a series closer to their collision course with the Detroit Pistons. Killer Kudzu Run set for Friday The annual Killer Kudzu 5K Run/Walk, benefiting the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, will be held this Friday evening, May 19. The race, sponsored by American Pacific, begins at 7 p.m. on the Marshall County Courthouse square. It will follow a challenging, hilly course through scenic Holly Springs. Awards will be given in 14 age groups, plus first-third overall male and female, and first place master/grandmaster. There will be cash prizes for the top three finishes with $300 for first, $200 for second and $100 for third. An additional $300 will be given for a new course record. Course records are held by Brian Pope (14:55) and Susie Motl Moroney (18:09). Cost of the race is $15 prior to May 18, and $18 race day registration.
