Local News BriefsWalking horse show set for Saturday at Thomas Arena The Dudley R. Moore Jr. Memorial 15th Annual White Oak Classic Walking and Racking Horse Show takes center stage Saturday. The big event, which includes $7,000 in prize money, will be held at Thomas Indoor Arena, Highway 7 at 78, in Holly Springs. Opening ceremony begins at 6 p.m. There will be 28 classes of competition, plus a kids’ area with face painting and balloons, a stick horse class (for ages 9 and under), bake sale, displays, concessions and much more. Bring your lawn chairs. There is lots of fun for the entire family. Gates open at 2 p.m. Admission is $6 for adults, $3 for ages 6-12, $4 for seniors and military, and children 5 and under are admitted free. Holly Springs School b oard schedules May 18 meeting A called meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Holly Springs School District has been scheduled for Thursday, May 18. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. and will be held in the Central Office Boardroom, 840 Highway 178 East, Holly Springs. The purpose of the meeting is discuss hiring a superintendent. Kudzu Festival scheduled June 1-3 in Holly Springs The 18th annual Kudzu Festival will be held June 1-3 at Thomas Arena in Holly Springs.
