EducationP.C. School Jr. Beta Fund Raiser By Ali Cheatwood, Hannah Goolsby and Shelby Sanderson This year at Potts Camp High School the Jr. High Beta Club sponsored by Lela Hale and Carol Gurley organized a Math-A-Thon for the fourth through sixth grades. The Math-A-Thon is a community service project, raising money for the children at St. Jude’s Research Hospital. In all, the children raised over $1,800! We had amazing participation and four top sellers who each raised over $100. Andrea Sims, the daughter of Leon and Debra Sims, was our top seller who raised $141.15. For her achievements, she received an MP3 player. Bailey Sanderson, the daughter of Todd and Leigh Anne Sanderson, raised $129. Kelsie Reid, daughter of Kerry and Kristi Reid, raised $125. Last but not least, Keshauna Payton, daughter of William and Valeria Payton, raised $100. The students were glad to help children in need and worked enthusiastically toward their goal. We appreciate all of the students’ hard work and determination. We would also like to thank Heather Henderson, Pat Kennedy and Tim Carter. We greatly appreciate their help and advice.
