Hawks third in North By BARRY BURLESON The Holly Springs High School boys placed third in the North 3A Track and Field Meet Saturday in Oxford. The Hawks finished with 88 points, trailing first-place Charleston (128.50) and second-place Corinth (119). Sixteen schools competed. Several Holly High athletes now move on to the State Track and Field competition this week, May 5-6, in Pearl. Those finishing in the top four at North State include:
Qualifying for State from Byhalia were Marcus Grey, third in the 400 meter dash (52.02), the Indians’ 4.x200 meter relay team, second (1:32:36); their 4x400 meter relay team, second (3:32.35); and Marquis Green, first in the triple jump (46-00.50). Byhalia finished seventh overall. Regional Meet On April 21, the Holly Springs High School boys placed second in the recent Regional Track Meet at Mississippi Valley State University. Those Hawks finishing in the top four of their respective events moved on to the Class 3A North Half Meet this past Saturday, April 29, at Oxford.
