eliminated in round one By BARRY BURLESON Byhalia ran into a couple of buzz saws during its third straight trip to the Class 3A state baseball playoffs. Byers the last seven seasons, leaves courtside with 813 career victories in 40 years. Hawks win first in division By BARRY BURLESON The Holly Springs High School Hawks are reaping honors in track and field events this spring. The Holly High boys took first place in the recent Division 3-3A Meet at Charleston, and 20 Hawks qualified for Regionals. Banks, Wilson contribute in all-star win Northwest Mississippi Community College basketball players Adrian Banks and Tarrell Wilson helped the north squad claim a 96-89 victory at the MACJC All-Star Game April 14 at Choctaw Central High School in Philadelphia. to North Half By BARRY BURLESON Potts Camp High School’s male and female teams finished second and third, respectively, in overall rankings from the Region 1-2A Track Meet. Patriots finish 13-8 By BARRY BURLESON Marshall Academy wrapped up its baseball season last week by winning three of four games. The Patriots, in coach Jimmy Hicks’ third season at the helm, finished 13-8 overall and 5-7 in the district. That’s a vast improvement over just two wins a year ago, none against district foes.
