Banks, Wilson contribute in all-star win
Northwest Mississippi Community College basketball players Adrian Banks and Tarrell Wilson helped the north squad claim a 96-89 victory at the MACJC All-Star Game April 14 at Choctaw Central High School in Philadelphia. Banks, a sophomore guard from Memphis, led the north with 21 points. He also claimed first place in the slam dunk contest. Wilson, sophomore forward from Holly Springs, added 11. Banks has been selected second team All-American by the National Junior College Athletic Association. He averaged 18.1 points and 4.3 rebounds this season while leading Northwest to its fourth consecutive appearance in the NJCAA National Tournament. Banks, who has signed with Arkansas State University, was voted first team MACJC All-State and All-Region XXIII. He was also selected to the All-Tournament teams at the region and national tournaments. Banks leaves Northwest ranked sixth on the school’s all-time scoring list with 1,098 career points.
