Police probe shooting By SUE WATSON A shooting of a 19-year-old last week in Holly Springs is still under investigation, according to police chief Patricia Selman. Marquanthony Pritchard of MI College Homes on West Woodward, was airlifted to The Memphis Med Thursday afternoon after sustaining a wound to the neck, she said. Pritchard died Saturday at The Med, Selman said. “He apparently was shot once and we are awaiting autopsy findings,” the police chief said. Police responded to two accident calls last week, according to Sgt. Elijah Wilson. Brian Hammer, 44, from DeSoto County, was pronounced dead on the scene following a one-vehicle accident around midnight Friday at the intersection of Eddie Lee Smith Drive and Highway 4 East, he said. Hammer was killed when the vehicle went into a roll-over near the intersection, he said. Police are investigating a two-vehicle accident that happened around 2:46 p.m. Saturday on Chulahoma Avenue near Woodland Heights, Selman said. Two juveniles who were riding in one of the vehicles were airlifted to The Memphis Med. Charles Glover, 43, of Holly Springs, driver of the other vehicle, was not injured, Selman said. The juveniles were thrown out of the vehicle they were riding in, according to fire chief Ken Holbrook. Firefighters extinguished a fire in the car driven by the juvenile after arriving on the scene, he said. Report News:
