MA athletes win ribbons during meet By BARRY BURLESON Marshall Academy hosted its first track meet of the season Thursday and the school’s biggest winner in varsity boys competition was Brent Adams. The sophomore won three events – the long jump (17-7), the high jump (5-6) and the triple jump (36-4). In varsity girls, Traci Rodgers took first place in two events – 3200 meter run (14:16.28) and 800 meter run (2:49.80). Both the Marshall boys and girls finished fourth overall. The order of finish in varsity boys was first, Kirk; second, Rossville; third, Magnolia Heights; fourth, Marshall; and tied for fifth, North Delta and West Memphis. The order of finish in varsity girls was first, Magnolia Heights; second, Kirk; third, Rossville; fourth, Marshall; fifth, North Delta; sixth, West Memphis; and seventh, Immaculate Conception. In the junior high girls category, the Marshall Academy Lady Patriots placed second overall. First place winners for MA included – Heather Tomlinson, shot put, 26-10; Emily Burk, high jump, 4-4; and Megan Isbell, 1600 meter run , 6:46. The order of finish in junior high girls was first, Magnolia Heights; second, Marshall; third, Kirk; fourth, Rossville; and fifth, North Delta. In junior high boys division, Spencer Autry was the lone MA Patriot to claim a first-place ribbon. He won the shot put competition with a toss of 39-6. The order of finish in junior high boys was first, Rossville; second, Magnolia Heights; third, Marshall; fourth, Kirk; and fifth, North Delta. Marshall was scheduled to host another meet on Tuesday, April 4, and then this Saturday, April 8, the school will host the Patriot Relays in conjunction with the “Spring Fling” activities on campus. Next Tuesday, April 11, is the Junior High
