“Mississippi Public Broadcasting is proud to bring statewide coverage of all teams competing in the Mississippi High School Activities Association State High School Basketball Finals,” said MPB Executive Director Marie Antoon. “Many thanks are extended to the Partnership for a Healthy Mississippi. Their financial support allows Mississippi Public Broadcasting to broadcast the live performances of the teams.

“These games are very important to the parents, students and communities supporting the schools and the players. It is our duty as statewide broadcaster to use our resources to act as a catalyst for community involvement.”

The executive director of MHSAA, Dr. Ennis Proctor, is very pleased that MPB will be airing the games again.

“We’ve received positive feedback from the general public and from people attending the district meetings,” Proctor said. “I’ve had elderly people approach me and express how wonderful it was to see their hometown team on television. Mississippi Public Broadcasting is doing a great service to those who wouldn’t ordinarily be able to come to a game.”
